Our Original Christmas Wreath was the very first wreath design we created at Harbor Farm back in 1986, and it remains a cherished favorite today! This traditional Maine wreath honors generations of holiday craftsmanship, made from fresh balsam fir and decorated with natural items harvested from the Maine woods. Each fall, we collect eastern white pine cones, acorns, and horse chestnuts to create and decorate each wreath by hand, preserving the tradition of authentic Maine wreath-making.

We Sustainably Harvest Our Evergreens
We use only the tips of the evergreen branches to make our wreaths. This process of harvesting foliage is known as "tipping." This is beneficial to the trees, similar to pruning, resulting in fuller and more vigorous growth.
My parents used to send these wreaths every Christmas to everybody in the family. They likely began the tradition in 1986, when this company was established, Since their deaths (20+ years ago) I have maintained the tradition. It’s a happy moment when these boxes land on my children’s doorsteps (and mine!). These wreaths are gorgeous—so full and fresh, with a generous bow and several natural adornments.
